Wall Insulation in Greece, NY
Many mid-century Greece homes have empty wall cavities. Adding wall insulation cuts drafts, evens out the temperature from room to room, and lowers your bills all year.
Is there one room in your house that is always colder than the rest? Empty walls are often the reason. A lot of older Greece homes were built with little or no insulation inside the walls, and walls make up a huge share of the surface area of your house. When those cavities are bare, heat walks right through them in winter and summer heat pushes back in. The good news is we can fill existing walls without gutting your house. Most of our wall work is drill-and-fill: we open small, patchable holes, blow the insulation in, and seal the holes back up. No tearing out drywall.

How We Insulate Existing Walls
Dense-pack cellulose. Blown into the wall cavity under pressure through small access holes, packing in tightly to stop air movement and drafts.
Injection foam. Expands inside the cavity to fill irregular spaces, a good option for walls that are hard to dense-pack.
Batts or spray foam for open walls. If you are already renovating and the walls are open, we can insulate them directly before they close up.

Our Wall Insulation Process
Step 1: Free home energy assessment. We locate the cold walls and confirm which cavities are empty.
Step 2: Access the cavities. We drill small holes, from the interior or exterior depending on the home.
Step 3: Fill. We dense-pack or inject until the cavity is full.
Step 4: Patch and clean up. We close the holes and leave the surface ready for paint or hidden behind siding.
Step 5: Verify. We confirm full coverage before we call it done.
Wall Insulation and Greece Homes
Notice that your north facing and west facing rooms take the worst of it? Those walls face the wind coming off Lake Ontario, and in a mid-century home the cavities behind them are empty or under insulated. Filling them cuts the winter draft and slows the temperature escape from the same walls in the summer with humid 90-degree stretches. It is a year-round fix, not a winter-only one.

Wall Insulation FAQs
Can you insulate my walls without tearing them open? Yes. Most of our wall jobs are drill-and-fill through small holes we patch afterward, so there is no major demolition.
Will I see the patches? When we work from the outside, the holes are hidden behind the siding. From the inside, we patch them so they are ready to paint.
How much of a difference does it make? Most people notice the drafts drop and that usual hot or cold room finally holds its temperature better through the seasons.
My 1960s home in West Greece has freezing walls on the lake side. Is that normal? It's very common. Those cavities are usually empty and they face the wind, so they take the brunt of the cold.
